We are this.

We are always just this.

We are never anything but this.

No matter what you do or where you go, you are always this.

In the supermarket checkout line, you are this.

On your phone, while texting, you are this.

Sweeping the driveway, you are this.

Waking up from a nap, making dinner, and washing the dishes is always this.

You sit down to meditate in the morning, set your timer, and relax into the shift from knowing to not knowing, and suddenly, there’s nothing to do, nothing to get.

You are just this.

Oddly enough, even though you set the timer

because you have things to do today, you realize that ultimately,

there is no time in this.

Crazy, right?

We use the expression ‘Just be in the present moment,’ but is there an actual present moment? Or is there just a timeless space called this?

And it’s kind of wonderful to be, for a time, free of time.

Free.

No past or future.

No inside or outside.

No self or other.

Can we ask,

What is this, right now, without a name?
