You have the day to yourself, so after shopping at Trader Joe’s, you drive to San Pedro to take a walk on the beach. It is a coolish, overcast day, and the sea and sky are the same shade of gray. The beach is vacant except for a man walking his dog, and as you walk along the shore, your mind, like the beach, becomes quiet and vacant. Thoughts are arising, as usual, but having no footing in the space of simple presence, they come and go without sticking. There is a spontaneous, deep enjoyment in this state of non-resistance. Everything is moving through you like the clouds and waves, and, at one point you are stopped in your tracks by the immensity of the world, by the immensity of life. At that moment, there is no inside or outside. You are the world, and the world is you, and beyond the noise of the mind is the power of love and an indestructible joy in life.

Mike. This is not Billy. Change the name to Jan Bailey.
Beautiful art and experience. Since the election I am practicing detachment. Letting go of resistance is in there somewhere!
